Greenidge is proud to have a long-standing and significant role in supporting the places where we live and work. We not only continue to create high-tech jobs and underpin local small businesses through our spending but take great pride in delivering meaningful and measurable community impact. Our team is helping build a foundation for lasting prosperity in myriad ways, large and small.
We have established meaningful partnerships with fellow residents and many local community organizations, including Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Camp Iroquois, and Habitat for Humanity, among others. We are also strong proponents of enhancing STEM instruction for our partnered students. To make this happen, we’ve partnered with Penn Yan, New York Middle School to establish a grant that supports Engineering and Biomedical Science programs via delivering Project Lead the Way’s best-in-class STEM curriculum to the school. Our support has helped fund professional development for teachers and classroom supplies, allowing us to help inspire local students to love the jobs of the future.
We are proud to have also worked with the Western New York Railway Historical Society to relocate and restore Locomotive No. 8666 to the 125-year-old Williamsville Lehigh Valley Depot for enthusiasts and visitors to enjoy.
Recognizing the need to assist local government in meeting the needs of our community, we proudly support the Dresden, New York Fire Department. That support allowed the Department to purchase needed safety equipment that will help save lives.
From an economic perspective, Greenidge is an anchor in Upstate New York. Between 2014 and 2020, our capital investments – both directly and indirectly – supported the creation of over 180 jobs in New York in several industries, resulting in over $13 million in employee earnings. More recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, our operations supported over 80 businesses in the Finger Lakes Region.
Community stewardship is part of our past, and a key element of our present. As we continue to expand across the country, we will continue to act as responsible stewards everywhere we operate.
